Reviews about Plaza Jewelers
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★August 11, 2019, by Maya LowderI have an Etsy store where I sell antique jewelry, along with other lovely old things, and because I do so much business online (and appreciate how others support my little small business), I try to use other small businesses as much as possible. Plaza Jewelers is hands down one of my top favorites! I discovered Plaza Jewelers when I had an antique ring that needed two prongs retipped. The first store I called (Pace Jewelers on Pendleton) quoted $75 for the repair with a 4 week turnaround time. I couldn't wait 4 weeks, so I searched for another (non-chain) local jewelry store and found Plaza Jewelers. He fixed my ring in less than two days, the repair was done perfectly, and the cost was almost 50% less than what the other store had quoted me. I feel like I've struck gold with Plaza Jewelers because it's not often you find a business that is faster, less expensive, AND does superior work! I recently brought in a Georgian era ring, more than 200 years old, that needed a repair on the bezel...his repair was seamless and perfect. I also took in a rose gold ring, circa 1880s, with a split shank. He rebuilt the shank, and you can't even see where the repair was done ... which is amazing to me because often with antique gold, it can be a challenge to match the color of the gold alloy. And the price he charged for 2 repairs, 1 gemstone identification, gold-testing on 3 other pieces, and a professional appraisal was far less than what I expected. Every time I've been to Plaza Jewelers, it has always been a great experience. And with Christmas coming up, I've been dropping hints to my husband to check out their estate jewelry:) I know this is a long review (for a business even, that could be seen as competition to my own), but I believe good work deserves to be praised, and I'm so glad to have found a place that I can trust with my irreplaceable antiques.
